Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a statewide motivational reading program open to all students in grades 3 to 6. Students are encouraged to read from a list of 15 books selected by the Alaska State Librarians Association. Goals for the program include broadening student reading interests to a variety of genres and working cooperatively with other students in answering detailed questions about titles and authors.

Students have the opportunity to try out for 3rd/4th grade and 5th/6th grade teams to represent Girdwood School at the District Tournament.
